Gloria Begay is the widow of renowned silversmith Kirk Smith, who died in 2013. For years she worked with her husband making jewelry. She is now making jewelry and using her own hallmark.
This ring is set with a teardrop-shaped stone of natural, untreated Kingman turquoise from Arizona. The stone is set in a smooth bezel wrapped with twisted square wire. Raindrops further decorate the border above and below the stone. The shank consists of two lengths of round wire with a length of twisted square wire sandwiched between. These lengths of wire separate into a split shank before attaching to the ring back. This is a very comfortable ring done in a Traditional Revival style.
Hallmarked Gloria Begay and stamped Sterling on the ring back.
