Navajo silversmiths Roy Manuelito and his wife Allison often work together to create jewelry. Each produces under his/her own hallmark at various times.
This concha belt by Roy and his wife Alison consists of nine oval conchas and a buckle set with natural, untreated clear blue Sleeping Beauty turquoise set in serrated bezels. Unlike very large, traditional concha belts, this one is made to fit through the belt loops of blue jeans and worn daily. Marked by finely detailed stampwork, this has classic details like the copper straps on back of the conchas through which this black cowhide leather belt strap passes. The buckle and conchas are polished to a high shine and can easily be maintained as shiny, or allowed to build a patina through years of wear.
Fit: This can be adjusted to fit a variety of waist sizes. For that reason, the belt strap is uncut so that it can be fit to size, then cut and holes punched. We include directions explaining how to adjust it. After adjustment for size, a local shoe repairman can punch holes.
Hallmarked RBM and stamped Sterling on the buckle.
