Robert Patricio is an active and prolific potter in his mid-thirties from Acoma Pueblo who does makes bowls and jars employing traditional designs. He often makes polychrome pieces (three or more colors), but is just as well-known for his dark brown natural wild spinach paint on a white slip. A photograph of Robert Patricio and an example of his work is shown on page 235 of Dr. Gregory Schaaf's book Southern Pueblo Pottery: 2,000 Artist Biographies. This piece is classic black on white Tularosa motifs painted with natural wild spinach paint on a thin slip of white clay. This pot has good shape and stands as a fine example of Robert's traditional work in a moderately-priced pot. This pot was made in October of 2003.
