Melvin Francis is a Navajo silversmith who lives in the Gallup, New Mexico area. We first offered his work on our website in 2003, at which time he was beginning his smithing career. Nearly 15 years later, he has greatly matured as a silversmith and mastered many different styles and techniques in silversmithing.
This bracelet is a classic old-style Traditional Revival cuff made from ingot silver and stamped with large-pattern designs harkening back to an earlier era. This is just a bit thicker than 12 gauge mill rolled sheet silver and has the additional heft that one feels in ingot silver. Beautifully rendered and absolutely classic in its design.
