Herman Vandever is a very accomplished silversmith who works in a variety of styles, including overlay work and sandcasting. When using stones, he always uses superior natural turquoise.
This bracelet has nice weight to it. It consists of five lengths of low-dome Sterling wire which form the cuff and flower appliquées which frame the large stone which is set on a very solid medallion. This large oval of natural, untreated Royston turquoise from Nevada shows wonderful color, from deep green to light blue mixed with deposits of matrix. This is a thick, carat-rich stone set in a smooth bezel wrapped with twist wire. Herman created handmade sunflower appliquées to complement and enhance the beauty of this composition. This is very well made with gorgeous design aspects and features a superb stone of natural turquoise.
