Herman Smith is one of the first Navajo smiths whose Traditional Revival work we began buying in the early nineties. We buy his pieces whenever they are available.
This pendant collar is studded with twenty-one rounds of red spiny oyster on the beautifully contoured collar from which is suspended a naja pendant set with fourteen rounds of Mediterranean red coral. The collar, of course, can be used to wear any pendant you wish, just as the pendant can easily be removed and worn on a set of Sterling beads or a chain, according to your whim or wardrobe of the day.
Note on length: We've cited the length as if there were no gap in back so you would understand how this would hang in length compared to a continuous chain or set of beads.
Hallmarked HS and stamped Sterling on the back of the pendant and the collar.
