Ernest R. Begay is a Navajo silversmith of wide repute. His stock in trade is making row bracelets with particularly heavy-gauge Sterling cuffs and marked with deep, deep precise stampwork, inside the cuff as well as on the outside surface. We have been buying Ernest's bracelets since we had a store in the French Quarter of New Orleans in the 1990's.
This graduated row bracelet shows off a seven-stone set of free-form cuts of natural, untreated Turquoise Mountain turquoise from Arizona. The stones are set in smooth bezels with decorative, graduated raindrops interspersed between the stones along the edges of the cuff. The cuff itself consists of five lengths of heavy-gauge round wire forming a solid, hefty foundation for these dazzling blue stones.
