Derrick Gordon is a young Navajo silversmith in his mid-twenties who learned to smith silver from his uncle Delbert Gordon. We have watched him make great strides in his design and compositional skills over the last three years.
This split-cuff bracelet is inspired by a design made by Calvin Martinez. Calvin makes this design in a slimmer, more delicate style with a narrower cuff. This piece offers a solidly wide cuff which is wholly appropriate for men or women. Stylized appliquées with repoussée teardrops and low-domed, softened raindrops frame the stone. The stone is a thick, creamy blue oval of natural, untreated Turquoise Mountain turquoise from Arizona. In addition to the gorgeous color and polish of this stone, it is exquisitely domed. It is set in a straight-edged bezel wrapped with twist wire and surrounded by tiny raindrops.
Hallmarked "Derrick" and stamped "Sterling" inside.
