Chacodog has been offering Navajo silversmith Darryl Becenti's pieces since 2003. Darryl is painstaking about the precision of his stampwork and he has a particularly good eye for combinations of stamps and innovating new designs which are wholly traditional in their inspiration. This large, three-stone pendant continues Darryl's experimentation with convex, fanned scallop appliquées as principal elements of texture and emphasis in his designs (see other examples: NBR-DBT115, NBR-DBT112 & NBR-DBT125). Using three eye-popping stones of natural Royston turquoise from Nevada, Darryl beautifully marries his deep, precise stampwork to create a richly textured composition of exquisite color. The stones are set in straight-edged bezels wrapped with twist wire and raindrops are interspersed among the stone sets to add sparkle to the design. The fifth photograph pictures Darryl's pendant on a strand of Erma Arviso's 12 mm. diameter antiqued Sterling beads. These beads are sold separately from the pendant.
