Chacodog has been offering Darryl Becenti's pieces since 2003; initially this repertoire consisted of rings, deeply-stamped bracelets without stones and pendants with primo turquoise. Darryl is painstaking about the precision of his stampwork and he has a particularly good eye for combinations of stamps and innovating new designs which are wholly traditional in their inspiration. This large, square concha pendant is a beautifully textured piece exhibiting repoussée shapes, starred buttons, twist wire and deep stampwork decorating its convex surface which is beautifully oxidized to an "old pawn" finish. It is set with a rich orange oval of spiny oyster at its center. The large bale has scalloped edges and is studded with starred buttons. The bale fits Erma Arviso's 12 mm. diameter beads, which are in perfect relational size to the piece--wear it on a short strand or a long strand (see link to beads below). Hallmarked with a "D" on its side over an arrow and stamped "Sterling" on back.
