Here is a piece which perfectly illustrates why Darryl Becenti's work is bought by serious collectors. This single-stone bracelet is set with a large, well-domed oval stone of deep blue natural Afghani lapis lazuli showing a tight grain and glassy smooth polish. Darryl always uses fine natural stones in his bracelets. But what also separates Darryl from so many other silversmiths is his inimitable stampwork, including "bumped up" repoussée motifs. This is clean, beautifully executed traditional stampwork as only a handful of smiths can achieve on a regular basis. This bracelet also has sculpted, scalloped edges and is additionally decorated by starred buttons. This is a truly superb specimen of lapis lazuli in a wide, classic one-stone bracelet.
Hallmarked D. Becenti over an arrow in flight and stamped Sterling inside the cuff.
