Born in 1956, Navajo silversmith Cecil Atencio has been smithing silver since his early twenties. He was born near Chaco Canyon at Kimbeto, New Mexico, which is little more than a curve in the gravel road situated in a place with blinding dust storms. He currently resides in Tohajiilee, New Mexico with his wife, children and grandchildren.
This simple pendant is set with a free-form stone of natural, untreated Royston turquoise from Nevada. The stone is set in a smooth bezel wrapped with twist wire. This pendant is accompanied by an 18-inch Sterling chain.
Stamped STERLING on the back of the pendant. We guarantee that Navajo silversmith Cecil Atencio made this pendant (he simply forgot to stamp his name and it can't be done after the piece is made).
