Born in 1956, Navajo silversmith Cecil Atencio has been smithing silver since his early twenties. He was born near Chaco Canyon at Kimbeto, New Mexico, which is little more than a curve in the gravel road situated in a place with blinding dust storms. He currently resides in Tohajiilee, New Mexico with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Here is a gorgeous specimen of natural, untreated Royston turquoise from Nevada set in a high-polish bracelet beautifully smithed by Cecil Atencio. This is a thick,carat-rich two-tone stone which is polished to a lustrous finish. Cecil's saw and file work forms the decorative border around this stone which is set in a smooth bezel wrapped with twist wire. This is true collector turquoise of incomparable coloration.
Hallmarked C. ATENCIO and stamped STERLING inside the bracelet.
