We've bought a few bracelets from Calvin done in this style; one central stone with a slightly convex and mostly uniform-width cuff showing wonderful motif-oriented stampwork. In fact, one of our favorite bracelets in this style had a large deep green stone of Royston turquoise and remained on the nightstand in New Orleans on August 28th, 2005--couldn't find it in the wrack and ruin of the house when returning to rescue the pottery! Made in November 2006, this piece is one among a larger series done in this style by Calvin over the last couple of years. This uniform-width cuff holds a deep green free-form stone of natural, untreated Royston turquoise from Nevada. This is very tight-grained stone which takes and holds a high polish. A bit of soft blue attempts to peek through the deeper green coloration. The stone is set in a straight-edged bezel wrapped with twist wire and large raindrops mark the intermediate directions surrounding the stone. The stampwork on this cuff is not typical of Navajo stampwork. Again, this piece shows Calvin's varied influences and ability to work in a traditional style, yet outside of that mainstream. Hallmarked "C.MTZ" inside an arrowhead and stamped "Sterling" inside. Stone: 1 1/8" x 15/16"
Uniform width of cuff: 1 1/16" Terminal to terminal: 5 5/8" Gap: 1" Total inside circumference (including gap): 6 5/8"
