Calvin Martinez Deep-Stamped Sterling Ingot Triangle Bracelet size 6 1/2"

Regular visitors to our website know that Calvin Martinez is one of our preferred silversmiths. This is why we actively seek his work. It's not simply his exquisite workmanship which dazzles us, it's also his ability to design pieces in a wholly traditional style while inventing those very designs. The style of work that Calvin does is commonly referred to as Traditional Revival. But in Calvin's case, this does not merely equate to reviving older designs; he's got the Traditional Muse on his shoulder and invents new designs which look 75 or 100 years old.

Stemped Navajo triangle bracelets are a traditional item which go way back to the early days of Navajo silversmithing. They are mostly made from pre-fabricated heavy-gauge triangle wire these days with stampwork added. We've had ingot triangle bracelets made by the late Gary Reeves, by Harry Begay and by Greg Lewis of Laguna Pueblo. None come near this rendering by Calvin Martinez. This is thick and heavy; one-half inch wide, one-quarter inch thick and very hefty at 78.2 grams. Quite simply the best ingot triangle bracelet we've ever seen.

Hallmarked C.MTZ inside an arrowhead and stamped Navajo and Sterling inside.
