Ava Marie Coriz strung all sorts of necklaces using many techniques and a variety of materials; from stringing disk beads to creating inlaid shell pendants, her work ranged across styles. She died in March of 2011. This necklace was made in 2009 or 2010. This simple choker-length necklace made by Ava Marie Coriz consists of graduated beads of olive shell. Added to the necklace is a removable pendant of mosaic inlay work done on a foundation of bone. Mosaic materials used on the pendant are pipestone, melon shell, blue and green Kingman turquoise, jet, white clam shell and orange spiny oyster.
