Tobacco canteens were an item used in the Old West to carry tobacco for rolling cigarettes. These have been made by Navajo silversmiths since the end of the nineteenth century. This is a very nice, full-sized rendition with fine, symmetrical stampwork and a tight-fitting stopper which makes this a practical item one can actually use (if you roll your own).
Hallmarked BLKGT and stamped Sterling on the spout (can be seen when the stopper is removed)
