Albert Jake was born in 1959 at Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico. He has been smithing silver for over fifteen years and is also a sand painter and makes pottery. We began buying Albert's pieces in 1999. He always uses fine quality stones in his work.
This stunning ring is set with a large, thick oval stone of natural, untreated Royston turquoise from Nevada. This is beautiful sky blue Royston with dramatic, pretty matrix. This is a classic design of Albert's, which he has also taught to and allowed his nephew Alvin Lee to re-create. Albert used the same technique as he uses for his pendants by surrounding this stone with a sculpted border rich with detailed and perfectly precise stampwork. The stone is set in a straight-edged bezel wrapped with twist wire. The shank is split into four narrower bands before attaching to the ring back and he used radiating stampwork in the shape of a triangle to decorate the sides of the shank.
This ring is hallmarked "A" and stamped "Sterling" on the inside of the shank.
