Albert Jake was born in 1959 at Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico. He has been smithing silver for over fifteen years and is also a sand painter and makes pottery. We began buying Albert's pieces in 1999. He always uses fine quality stones in his work.
We have sourced this same style ring from Guy Hoskie and Derrick Gordon. Of course, Albert and these other two smiths are friends and they are all open to making this type of affordable ring which is comfortable enough to wear every day and holds a premium quality natural turquoise stone. This is a large stone and it will span the whole distance from knuckle to knuckle. This ring holds a long, thick oval stone of natural, untreated Pilot Mountain turquoise from Nevada set in a straight-edged bezel wrapped with twist wire, which forms the border of the ring face. The shank consists of four lengths of round wire, fused on the sides and back of the shank into a solid band which splits into four narrower bands before attaching to the ring back.
Hallmarked "A" and stamped "Sterling" on the ring back. Stone: 1 1/8" x 5/8"
Ring face: 1 1/4" x 3/4" Width of shank in back: 3/16"
