Albert Jake was born in 1959 at Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico. He has been smithing silver for over fifteen years and is also a sand painter and makes pottery. We began buying Albert's pieces in 1999. He always uses fine quality stones in his work.
The shank of this ring has a sculpted, scalloped edge with decorative stampwork. Triangular appliquées with radiating sunburst stampwork flank the stone to left and right. This ringis set with a free-form stone of natural, untreated Pilot Mountain turquoise "saw rock" from Nevada. The stone is set in a 3/16" straight-edged bezel wrapped with twist wire, which forms the border of the ring face. The shank has a soft matte finish and an oxidizing agent was used to heighten the contrast of the stampwork. Hallmarked "A JAKE" and stamped "Sterling" inside the shank. Stone: 1 1/8" x 9/16"
